Dining and drinking review: Aviateur French Diner

Review and photos by Kurt Kwon

Aviateur French Diner is located at 1498 Pacific Ave.

Bon Jour!  You're greeted by friendly staff at this great French restaurant. The place has an ample amount of tables and is interestingly furnished. Tasteful French music in the background gives you the feeling that you are actually in France.

But the food!  French food is all about the sauces and this place does not disappoint. Tried several items including the beef bourguignon, crusted baked salmon, and crepe suzette for desert. The beef was extremely tender melt in your mouth with a smooth red wine sauce. The potatoes were excellent with a nice creamy buttery texture. The salmon was presented beautifully with goat cheese and spinach in a flavorful bearnaise sauce.

But save room for dessert! The crepe suzette has a fantastic honey cinnamon sauce concoction that makes you crave more. Pair it all with a refreshing vanilla ice cream and your night is complete. They have a nice wine selection and the famous French beer 1664 on tap. Great experience... You won't be disappointed.
