Johnny's staff members were kept busy refilling beer and wine glasses all evening, and bringing out steaming clam chowder in bread bowls and large platters of steak sliders. They also continuously restocked a buffet table with fried chicken wings, crab dip, and shrimp cocktail.
Esplanade resident Shoko Yoshikawa was impressed. "I just want to thank those who were involved in last Friday evening's event, and who made that happen," Yoshikawa said. "It was a very nice gathering to meet our neighbors, and generous of Pacific Seafood to do this."
As the party wound down, Sean, one of the Johnny's managers, stood on a chair to speak to the crowd. He thanked all who attended the evening, and also thanked Esplanade residents for their continued patronage. He noted a few of the lesser-known items for sale at Johnny's, such as the seafood party platters. Later, Sean revealed to a few diners that within the next two weeks, Johnny's expects to begin construction on a large, retractable glass patio enclosure. This will allow diners to eat "outside" in the colder months while staying warm, and the enclosure will retract for true outdoor dining in the warmer months.
