Dining and drinking review: Savor Creperie

Today "The Esplanade News" brings you another review of a "within-walking-distance" eatery. Many thanks to our resident culinary reviewers Kurt Kwon and Ted Broussard for continuing to bring us reports and photos from local restaurants. Enjoy!

Review and photos by Kurt Kwan

Savor Creperie is located at 1916 Pacific Avenue

Savor Creperie is great addition to Tacoma's expanding downtown dining scene. Expect to walk into a clean, quaint, friendly environment where local art adorns the wall with local scenes.

The open kitchen produced great savory crepes. One of the crepes we devoured was the shredded pork, mushrooms, cabbage slaw, and hoisin sauce. The actual crepe held together well to hold all the ingredients, and the pork was surprisingly tender and well-seasoned.

The other crepe we tried was a rosemary chicken, roasted sweet potato, and toasted pecans with a balsamic reduction. It was like Thanksgiving wrapped into a crepe.

The sweet crepes looked great and I will have some next time I visit. They also serve crepe scrambles if you're in the breakfast mood. French press is offered in a small or large, and they have a nice selection of Mad Hat Tea. Definitely worth a stop!
