News and notes for this week

A few items of news and note for this week:

  • The Esplanade Book Club will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, December 3 in the community room. The book for discussion this month is The Moor's Account, by Laila Lalami. Do come whether you've completed the book or not. Wine and snacks are also on the agenda; feel free to bring something to share if you like.

  • The Esplanade Christmas Party will be this Friday evening, December 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the community room. Click on the image below to see the official invitation with all information.

  • Have you ever wanted to create a to-do list for the City of Tacoma? Here’s your chance! For the last several months, staff from the city and other local organizations have been working to identify meaningful actions to address environmental issues - like transportation, recycling, energy use, and green space - and improve livability in Tacoma. Now city leaders are asking for your feedback on that list of possible actions. Which actions would have the greatest benefit for you, your family, and your neighbors? Which ones would have the most positive impacts on our air, water, parks, and neighborhoods? Which ones give us “the most bang for our buck”? And how can we prepare ourselves for the future in Tacoma? Attend an open house on Monday, December 7 to ask questions and offer your feedback. Click HERE for more information.
