News and notes for this week

Several items of news and note for this week:

• Board meeting tomorrow night: The HOA board will meet on Thursday, August 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room. There will be committee reports, budget updates, and time for resident questions. To see an unofficial summary of the last meeting click HERE.

• Fire safety inspection Friday: On Friday, August 12 Smith Fire will perform their annual fire inspection between 8 am - 3 pm. They will need access to every unit. There will be bells and whistles being sounded off during this time. For residents who won't be in the building, Karen will need a key or access code. If they can't gain access there will be a re-inspection fee charged to you.

• The Esplanade Book Club has chosen books for their next few meetings. The group meets the first Thursday of every month, at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room. All residents are invited. Books for the next several months are:
• September: The Camel Club, by David Baldacci
• October: To Kill a Mockingbird and Go Set a Watchman, by Harper Lee
• November: Alexander Hamilton, by Ron Chernow

• Social committee sets coffee dates: After a recent poll of residents showed interest in morning coffee socials, the social committee has chosen three Saturday mornings to host gatherings in the Community Room. All residents are invited to join "Coffee and Conversation," at 9:30 a.m. on August 27, September 17, and October 15. Bring a breakfast items to share if you want!
