News and notes for this week
A few items of news and note for this week:
- Water shut off February 12
- Weather permitting, on Tuesday, February 12th from 8-10 am Smith Fire will be conducting back flow testing.
- The water will be shut off during this time.
- HOA general meeting is February 13
The annual HOA general meeting, including election of new board members, will be February 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the community room. Please note that February 13 is a Wednesday, instead of the customary second Thursday of the month. This change was made to avoid a conflict with Valentine's Day.

- "Esplanade Litter Patrol" working on Saturday, 2/23
On Saturday, February 23 the "Esplanade Litter Patrol" will meet again to clean up the area directly across from our building (between the railroad tracks and Hood Street), as well as the A Street sidewalk leading up to the locomotive sculpture. Meet on Hood Street at 9 a.m.
The group has approximately two dozen members on their mailing list, and their work parties in the last year have been a big success; the neighborhood is much improved by their efforts. For more information, contact Lynn at lynnrdutton@aol.com.
- Please vote on CC&R change
All homeowners recently were mailed a ballot, which would have arrived in an envelope from "Fullaway, Lamphear & Suave." This ballot is for homeowners to vote on language changes to the CC&Rs, which would allow vehicle traffic and short term parking in the "concrete circle." The last count of ballots was 104-9 in favor of changing the language in the CC&Rs. A two-thirds "Yes" vote of all units is needed to change the CC&Rs and open the circle. This vote will not determine any expenditures. The HOA board has already approved the funds and repair of the concrete is in progress - the vote will only determine whether or not the area will be open to vehicles.
