News and notes for this week

A few items of news and note for this week:

• The southeast stairwell and elevator #3 are closed today to facilitate the new HVAC compressor unit being installed on the roof. More information on this installation to come.

• The building-wide water shutoff originally scheduled for today has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 6 due to a family emergency. Water may be intermittent from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on that day. Water pumps on the second and sixth floors are being repaired.

• While you are not using water on Thursday, you might come have a glass of wine instead at the Esplanade Book Club meeting. The meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6 in the community room. The book for discussion this month is Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel. Do come whether you've completed the book or not. Wine and snacks are also on the agenda; feel free to bring something to share if you like.
