Annual Esplanade Thanksgiving food drive

Beginning Saturday, November 1, residents will be able to contribute their donation of non-perishable food - right here in the Esplanade lobby - to help the poor and hungry of Tacoma and Pierce County.

The food will be donated to the "Food Connection" at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, which serves hundreds of hungry families each week. Just up the hill from the Esplanade, the church is right in our neighborhood. Fifty percent of those the Food Connection serves are children and the elderly, our most vulnerable neighbors. Last year Esplanade residents provided many boxes of food, and hopefully that effort can be repeated this year.

There are large boxes in the Esplanade lobby, labeled “Food Connection.” Lists of the non-perishable foods that are in most need will be posted around the building. The food drive will last from November 1- November 20.
