Readings were taken by PSE and by the fire department, and all tests were negative for gas and other toxins in the air. It was surmised that the smell is being caused by activity at the port, and the winds are carrying the smell into our vicinity. There is no imminent danger.

Natural gas smell reported, no danger found
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday night, several residents reported smelling natural gas in the hallways and lobby. The Tacoma Fire Department and a Puget Sound Energy crew member were on-site very quickly. A dozen or more residents gathered in the lobby, including Building Manager Karen DeGraw, several HOA board members, and Safety Committee Chair Pat Pound.
Readings were taken by PSE and by the fire department, and all tests were negative for gas and other toxins in the air. It was surmised that the smell is being caused by activity at the port, and the winds are carrying the smell into our vicinity. There is no imminent danger.
