News and notes for this week

Several items of news and note for this week:

  • Elevators out of service on Wednesday:All three elevators will be out of service on Wednesday, December 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a scheduled visit to perform work on the elevator panel. Please do not schedule any deliveries or pick-ups during this time.

  • Lighted boat parade Saturday:The Tacoma Yacht Club's annual lighted boat parade is set for Saturday, 12/17. The parade, which typically features 30-40 boats decorated with colorful lights, begins at the Tacoma Yacht Club at 6:00 p.m. and should reach the Esplanade at approximately 7:00 p.m.

  • Toys for Tots drive underway:
Residents may have noticed the "Toys for Tots" drop boxes in the lobby outside of the community room. Residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys for distribution to needy children in the community through Wednesday, December 14. You can learn more about the Toys for Tots program HERE.

  • A few security reminders:
    • Packages and deliveries - Do not prop the doors open for move in/outs and deliveries. If you receive packages at your door please do not let them stack up for days; there have been packages taken from doorsteps. If you aren't going to be home make arrangements with a neighbor to bring them in.
    • Non-residents in the building - We have a sizable homeless population living in the neighborhood; please do not let people into the building unless you know them. Within the past six months we have had a few storage lockers broken into and recently we had an incident where an individual got into the lower garage seeking shelter.
    • Garages - Please remember do not keep valuables in your vehicles. Be aware of pedestrians and vehicles that follow your vehicle into the garage and always be aware of your surroundings. If you see suspicious activity please report it to the police.
