News and notes for this week

Several items of news and note for this week:

  • Water shut off Thursday:
    Thursday, January 5, 2017 Smith Fire will be conducting their annual backflow test. All water will be shut off from 10 am - 12 pm.

  • Book Club meets Thursday:
    The Esplanade Book Club will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 5 in the community room. The book for discussion this month is Alexander Hamilton, by Ron Chernow. Do come whether you've completed the book or not. Wine and snacks are also on the agenda; feel free to bring something to share if you like.

  • Mark your calendar for upcoming HOA meetings
    The next HOA board meeting will be on Thursday, January 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the community room. There will be committee reports, budget updates, and time for resident questions. To see an unofficial summary of the last board meeting click HERE.

    The annual HOA meeting for all condo owners will be Thursday, February 9. At this meeting the association will vote to elect two residential board members and one board member representing the building's commercial units. Any owner who would like to run for a board position is encouraged to contact the board or contact Property Manager Matt Brown as soon as possible. It is necessary that 40 votes are cast, either in person or by proxy, to elect new board members. HOA members are strongly encouraged to attend the February meeting or give a proxy form to a neighbor.

  • Foss Waterway beautification group forming:
    Esplanade resident Jori Adkins, a retired landscape designer and urban planner, is interested in organizing a "Friends of the Foss" organization to help in beautifying the Foss Waterway. Click HERE for more information.
