News and notes for this week

A couple items of news and note for this week:

  • Help out the neighborhood this Saturday, 3/9
The "Friends of the Foss" group will meet at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday, 3/9 for a work party. The "Friends of the Foss" group periodically works on general beautification of the Foss Waterway Esplanade. Click HERE for more information about this week's project. Contact group leader Jori Adkins at joriadkins@mac.com.

  • HOA board meeting next Thursday
The next Esplanade HOA board meeting will take place on Thursday, 3/14 at 6:00 p.m. in the community room. There will be committee reports, budget updates, and more.
Residents are reminded that while they are welcome to attend, this is not a general HOA member meeting. The board conducts their business during these monthly meetings, sometimes asking for input from committee members and others present. A Q&A session for residents is usually included at the end of the meeting.

  • Thanks to the "Esplanade Litter Patrol"
Last Saturday the "Esplanade Litter Patrol" filled about a dozen bags with litter from the area between the railroad tracks and Hood Street. The group has approximately two dozen members on their mailing list, and their work parties in the last year have been a big success; the neighborhood is much improved by their efforts. • City recycling may change, and you can vote on it
In the past several months, the large recycling containers in our upper garage have been rejected for pickup several times, due to inappropriate items being deposited in them. Now, the City of Tacoma is considering changes to its recycling pickup. Read more information HERE, and take the survey HERE.
